A problem of files, not of products
A good luminaire loses a specification for the most ordinary reason: the consultant asked for an IES file and a Revit family and got a PDF brochure three days later. By then the schedule named somebody else. It is not that the product was worse. It is that the other brand had the files ready.
Producing those files the traditional way is slow and expensive. Photometry sits in a lab report, the datasheet lives in a design agency, the Revit family was made once by a freelancer and never updated. Change one wattage and four documents are wrong.
The fix is to hold the product once, properly, and generate everything else from it. That single change is the whole product.
What we will not do
We will not invent photometry. A file that claims to be measured is measured. Where there is no lab data yet, the file says so, in the header and on the page, and is replaced the moment real data arrives. A consultant who trusts a Southbeam file should be right to.
We will not price per file. The brands with the biggest catalogues are the ones with the most to gain from being specified, and charging them the most for it is backwards.
We will not hold your data hostage. Full export at any time — product records, generated files, portal downloads log — in open formats. No exit fee.
How we work
Built from the supply side. The team has sold lighting into construction projects in the Gulf and Europe. The tools exist because we needed them.
Changed files get called out. If a release changes how a file is generated, it goes at the top of the changelog in plain language, with what to regenerate.
You talk to the people who build it. Support is the engineering team. There is no tier one.
